Members of the Alabama State Champion Headland Rams Basketball Team gathered Friday night for a 30-year reunion and recognition during the games in Smith Gym. The team worked to achieve a 34-2 record which remains one of the best seasons ever at HHS. They were treated to a barbecue meal in the HHS Library prior to the games. Seated with the championship trophy are Headland Coach Steve Williams, left, and Assistant Coach Al Griffin. Back, from the left, are Manager John Gamble, Bobby Joe Jackson, Travis Reeves, Tracy Jones, and Manager Joey Hodges. Other team members were Bobby Ray Norton, James Acey King, Craig Adams, Kelvin Brown, William Walker, Keith Thornton, Kenneth Morris, Greg Stovall, Curtis Brown and Manager Mark Watson.
The Annual Headland Christmas Parade was held on Saturday, December 14th from Douglas Park to around the Town Square. Beauty queens, floats, the Headland High School and Abbeville High School bandsfire engines, police cruisers, motorcycle clubs, horses and entries from local businesses as well as organizations made for a glorious display. Mrs. Betty McGriff was the honored Parade Marshall. This event is sponsored by the Headland Chamber of Commerce and the City of Headland.

The 42nd Harvest Day Festival was held on the Town Square in Headland on Saturday, Oct. 12th. Thousands of citizens and visitors enjoyed a beautiful day with rides for the kiddies, entertainment throughout the day, a wide variety of foods as well as treats, as well as dozens of booths displaying a wide variety of arts and crafts The Festival is sponsored by the Headland Chamber of Commerce.
