Headland’s Cole Burdeshaw & Jacob Hartzog win Alabama BASS Nation High School Trail State Championship Title at Lake Eufaula May 22-23. The State Champions anchored their winning weight with a second day bag of 19.60 lbs giving them a 2 day total of 31.44lbs.
The two high school seniors previously qualified for the National Championship earlier in the year, but this title again secured their spot at the next level. As National Qualifiers, Burdeshaw and Hartzog will compete in the Costa Bassmasters High School National Championship. They will be one of 22 teams who will be representing Alabama on Kentucky Lake, Paris Tennessee from July 22-25th 2015!
Mr. Howard Parker, long-time businessman and owner of Parker's Furniture, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home. Mr. Parker was a fine gentlemen and fixture on the town square for decades working in other businesses before starting Parker Furniture in the 80's. He will be missed!
Twenty three East Alabama High School Bass teams competed in the first tournament of the year this past Saturday at Lake Martin. The Headland Bass Team of Cole Burdeshaw and Jacob Hartzog held off the field taking first place with a 5 fish limit and a winning weight of 7 lbs 8 oz. The team of Peyton McCord and Zach Buchanan finished strong as well taking 11th with just a little over a 1 lb for Headland.
